Hi, my name is Josh. I’m a husband, a hard worker, and a proud Alabama native. In early 2025, my life changed drastically when I was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer that had spread to my liver.
At first, we were hopeful that 8 rounds of chemotherapy would be enough. That plan quickly changed. Since March 2025, I’ve endured 12 intense rounds of chemotherapy, followed by multiple scans to determine next steps. With the intention of preparing for surgery, my doctors recommended a short course of radiation on my colon.
Around that same time, scans revealed very small spots on my lungs. Although they were tiny, their presence raised concerns. A pulmonologist initially believed the spots were caused by a staph infection, not cancer, and I began antibiotics while continuing with the radiation. We were incredibly relieved—never imagining we’d be happy to hear about a staph infection.
Unfortunately, follow-up imaging showed continued concern. A second biopsy confirmed what we were hoping not to hear: the cancer has spread to my lungs. Because the spots are small but scattered, surgery is no longer an option. Receiving that news was devastating.
My oncologist has since recommended that we seek a second opinion before moving forward with additional chemotherapy. My wife and I are currently exploring several cancer treatment centers across the Southeast to determine the best possible path forward.
This journey has been exhausting—physically, emotionally, and financially—but I’m doing everything I can to stay strong for my wife and family, who have been unwavering in their love and support.
As anyone who has faced cancer knows, the costs add up quickly: medical bills, prescriptions, travel for treatment, and everyday living expenses. We created this fundraiser to help ease some of that burden so I can focus on treatment and healing.
If you’re able to donate, share this page, or keep us in your thoughts and prayers, it truly means more than we can express. Every bit of support helps and brings us closer to brighter days ahead.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
