A couple of weeks ago, we received news that our daughter, Jocelyn (Jo), has cancer. This news is every parent's worst nightmare. Her story is below.

This is Jo's Journey -

Hello to all my friends and family. I have a little life update.

Two months ago, while out of town, I found a lump on my breast. As soon as I got back to town, I saw my primary doctor who recommended an ultrasound and mammogram. The ultrasound was slightly abnormal but seemed to be nothing too concerning. I was given the option to go ahead and biopsy the lump for peace of mind, or I could let it be and recheck in 6 months. I decided to go forth with the biopsy. I began seeing a breast specialist who walked me through the process.

On Tuesday, 6/3/25, my life flipped upside down.

I received a call from my doctor letting me know the lump found contains B cell lymphoma.

I have taken a few days to process and feel all the feels, and today was my first appointment with my surgical oncologist.

He is VERY hopeful and thinks we can kick this cancer in the ass!

Today begins my cancer journey.

We still do not know much, but the next steps will be getting an echo, a PET scan, and a bone marrow biopsy to make sure the cancer is only located in the one spot. Once all the tests have been completed, we will come up with a treatment plan.

I cannot thank all of my friends and family who have been by my side these last few days.

I am so confident with the support I have I will never feel alone in this battle, and for that, I could not be more blessed.

I am so sorry if this is the way you are finding out. I just don’t have the energy right now to call/text everyone I need.

I will do my absolute best to keep everyone who wants to be involved in my journey updated, but please don’t take offense if I do not respond. I love you guys and I am so beyond thankful for my support system ❤️

*We found out on Friday that all of the tests/scans came back clean, the cancer has not spread! We will be getting surgery set up to remove the tumor and will be praying all the margins come back clear.*

I am setting up this fundraiser to help Jocelyn pay for her mounting medical bills and her time off work. Not only does she have medical bills for treatment/tests received so far this year, deductible & copays, she turns 26 in July and thus, loses our insurance. She will have to get her own insurance through her work, which means she will have to start all over by paying a new deductible, more copays, and coinsurance. While we are quite thankful that she has access to her own health insurance, her new insurance comes with a much higher deductible and copays. Anyone who knows Jocelyn knows that she is the biggest giver there is. Please consider helping her out.
