Hello, I'm Jonathan Kogasso, and I want to share a deeply personal journey with you. I was born in Kinshasa, DR Congo, in 1995, during a time when our homeland was marked by conflict and unimaginable suffering. My life took a remarkable turn when, in 2003, I left behind my family and embarked on a journey to Europe, eventually finding my way to Italy.

Imagine being a child, torn away from your loved ones, arriving in a foreign land, and facing the challenges of adapting to a new life. This was my reality. But I carried with me the hope and determination to create a better future, not just for myself, but for the family I had to leave behind.

In Italy, I found solace and purpose through friendships forged in the crucible of life's challenges. First with schoolmates and later on the soccer field, I built bonds that remain unbreakable. These relationships taught me the value of resilience and the strength that comes from community.

My life took another transformative turn when I discovered the world of boxing. At 18, I began training at Voghera's renowned gym, where legendary champions had honed their skills. Soon, I stepped into the ring for my first fight, and that's when I realized that boxing was more than a sport: IT WAS MY CALLING!

Through victories and defeats, national and international tournaments, my love for boxing grew stronger. In 2021, I made the bold decision to turn professional. Today, I proudly hold a record of 9 wins out of 9 fights, with 6 victories ending before the final bell.

Yet, the life of a professional boxer is financially challenging. Despite my dedication, I must juggle multiple jobs to make ends meet, especially as a new father. The expenses of rent, utilities, and daily necessities add to the burden.

As a professional athlete, my expenses extend beyond the basics. They include personal training, mental coaching, physiotherapy, and specialized sports equipment. Traveling between gyms for sparring sessions and sometimes internationally for training is essential for my growth.

I believe in the power of dreams and in giving back to those in need. My dream is not just to become a world champion but also to provide opportunities and assistance to others. Boxing belongs to the people, and I'm a son of the people, determined to make a difference.
