My name is Joel Derrick Prentice, a devoted husband to Angela C. Long-Prentice, father to Joshua (Brittany), Ariel, and Sean (Zanna) and proud grandfather to five beautiful grandchildren.

I am currently fighting for my life. As a heart transplant patient at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital, I recently endured three intense shocks in just two days—bringing the total to 10 over the past two years. By God's grace, I was given a Left Ventricle Assist Device to help my failing heart, and my transplant status has been upgraded from level 4 (of 6) to level 2.

Since my emergency transfer from Miami Valley Hospital, my incredible wife, Angela, has been by my side, staying in Cleveland without hesitation. She plans to remain here throughout my transplant and recovery, ensuring I have the love and support I need. This means covering hotel costs, food and even boarding our beloved Hazel while she stays with me. Our daughter, Ariel, has also been making trips from Dayton to be with us.

We are humbly reaching out for help. The financial burden is overwhelming, with mounting medical bills, ongoing lodging and food expenses for Angela and Ariel, and travel costs for Joshua and his family to be here from Arizona.
