Join Joe and Rosa: Support Latonya's MS Care

Donation protected
My name is Rosa White and I live in Baltimore, Maryland. My son-in-law, Joe, and I have set up this GoFundMe campaign to help with my daughter’s medical expenses stemming from her nearly 30-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Raising this money would assist with medical expenses not covered by insurance, helping keep my daughter home and comfortable with her family, giving her the best quality of life we can.

My beautiful daughter, Latonya Endres, was born on May 23, 1965, and as a young child, she was dancing almost before she could walk. She loved people and always wanted to be active – swimming, dancing, cheerleading, roller skating - approaching life with a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eye.

Latonya graduated from Northern High School in 1983, following which she worked at various retail positions. In 1984, she met and subsequently married her husband, Joe Endres, in 1985. Life was good for a time, but in 1996, at the young age of 31, Latonya was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis/Optic Nerve of the Eye. MS is a chronic and progressive neurological disease affecting the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves, and for which there is no cure. Since her 1996 diagnosis, Latonya has gone from using a cane, braces, and a walker, to a wheelchair.

Now at age 60, Latonya has been wheelchair-bound for the last 20 years, with the last 10 being in total care, as she is unable to meet any of her Activity Daily Living Skills (ADLs). One of her ADLs is continence, and as Latonya is unable to meet this ADL, she has been using the PureWick system, a non-invasive catheter. Because of the length of time she has required a catheter, the PureWick system works better than traditional catheters as it helps eliminate nightly bathroom trips, decreases the risk of falls, and keeps the skin dry. Not covered under any insurance, PureWick requires twice daily changing, and costs $250 for a 30-day supply. The amount we would like to raise would cover Latonya’s expenses for one year.

Despite her battle with MS, she and Joe have remained devoted to one another, celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2025. As her advocates, Joe and our family continue to fight for Latonya, doing all within our power to prevent her from being placed in a nursing home. We continue to petition various assistance programs for financial support, but have been unsuccessful to date. Your support in this endeavor would mean the world to all of us and allow Latonya some manner of dignity to live her life the best she can. Thank you! Rosa White, Joe Endres, and the family of Latonya Endres.
