Jason (JJ) Gholston was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in May 2025. While his prognosis is good, he and his family face a difficult treatment process that will require a stay of 30 days at Children's Hospital and 4 rounds of aggressive chemotherapy treatment. JJ is going into his junior year at Tartan High School, where he excels at football and track as well as his studies. JJ also has two sisters at Tartan, Jordan and Justice as well as a younger brother, Jasir who will join them in 9th grade next fall and a three-year-old sister Jai. Aside from missing work and the added medical expenses for JJ's treatment, his parents Taneishia and Arthur Gholston are also facing some vehicle issues that have made getting to and from the hospital and school activities very challenging.
