Join Jim's Journey: Overcoming Cancer Together

After much deliberation we've decided that we are going to document my partner Jim Walden's journey. It's going to be an extremely challenging one but if anyone can overcome great odds it's this man. Several months ago, Jim started experiencing some worrisome discomfort . After several doctor visits, lots of test and scans, we were told they had found a mass and it was cancer. Jim recently started Radiation and Chemo Therapy for Cancer. The drive is almost 3 hours daily, 5 days a week for the next 6 weeks. This has taken a toll on his savings already. He is needing funds to cover prescriptions, medical supplies, copays, fuel, food and any other things that may come up. We will be able to stay at the Hospitality House part time but will still need these things while there as well as the house doesn't provide food, medical supplies, etc for you. He has a long road ahead but we are feeling hopeful and optimistic about the future. Jim is retired, on a fixed income and with the current situation, Becca is officially out of work for the unforeseeable future and Jim's medical bills have already started piling up as we knew that they would. With all of this being said, to lessen the financial strain that this is causing I have decided to start a GoFundMe account for him. This is round one. We hope this goes well so there won't be a round 2. We really don't know what to expect as we haven't gone through this before. It's all new to us. He has always been very healthy. We want our friends & family to have a singular place to "help". Thoughts, prayers, good vibes, (whatever name you may have for it) are all that we expect from you and we are so grateful to have you by our side on this journey. Even if it's from afar.
