Hello!
My name is Brian and I'm here because Jessie, my 2 1/2-year-old pit bull, was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Lymphoma.
It's never easy when a pet gets ill, and it's especially difficult when they're so young, but we're here playing the hand we've been dealt. As of right now, she's in amazing spirits and showing very few signs of being ill, but unfortunately, this disease doesn't present itself readily and has advanced quickly in the process of getting her diagnosed.
Her oncologist is implementing an aggressive treatment plan, which is a combination of chemotherapy and steroids. She'll be receiving these treatments in various stages over the next year of her life. This will give her the best chance at achieving a remission and remaining there long-term while maintaining her quality of life.
The good news is that with this treatment plan, most dogs enter into remission quickly, and with her being so young and otherwise healthy, the chances of long-term remission are quite high.
Obviously as with any health care, more so with Cancer, the treatments are prohibitively expensive. Jessie is currently insured but doesn't have nearly amount of coverage needed to provide the kind of care she'll need moving forward.
If you've ever met her, you know how truly sweet and gentle she is. She is such an amazing animal who loves to be amongst people, and my heart truly breaks that she's got such an arduous fight ahead of her. I knew as soon as I laid my eyes on her that she was a soul-dog, and I made a promise to myself that I'd do everything I possibly could to protect her and give her the best life possible.
I can't express how grateful I am for anything offered in Jessie's fight against cancer.
Thank you so much!
