Hello, my name is Jerry Messing. Many of you already know my story's pause moment, from when I was in my coma when I contracted Covid. While I have certainly had many ups and downs from there (the ups mainly being from the support I've received over the past years), I have decided I can no longer react to the challenges life keeps passing my way, and must now become proactive to starting the next chapter in my life. That means getting me out of Florida and MUCH closer to more of my friends and remaining family, better medical help, and into an environment with a blossoming arts community so I can get back to doing what we all wish I would, and honestly know I should, be doing (acting in some capacity).

So what does this plan look like? Moving expenses, and non-emergency medical transport for myself. The climb will be a steep one, as I'm looking to get approximately 15k by October. This would allow my father and I to finish our current lease, while using the incoming funds to find a rent-able place (with the help of my sister and her family) in Austin; secure a trustworthy moving company, and book transport for myself from Jacksonville. However, while I can do all the busy work by phone... what I can't do is provide the foundation of what is necessary, that can only come with the help of those that care.

I've had to rely on that caring for longer than I'm comfortable admitting (I much prefer to be the one offering support), but I've given my word to not just survive, but find a way to thrive, so I must continue to lean on those that care a bit longer... Thank you for caring, I know they are literally just words in the moment, but this is my greatest chance to turn my words into action.
