Join Jennifer's Journey to Mayo!

My beautiful sis Jennifer is, and has been, dealing with a number of serious chronic health issues for the last four years.    Despite seeing numerous health care providers and currently 4 specialists, her health has deteriorated and continues to do so.    Her immune system has been compromised, and her health and  life  will be in jeopardy if her immune system completley shuts down.    She was finally referred to the Mayo Clinic for proper diagnosis and treatment.     It has taken us so long to finally get an appointment with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  Unfortunately, she was unable to be seen at the location in Scottsdale AZ (our neighboring state), and our first attempt at getting an appointment.  It has been a difficult ordeal dealing and coordinating with a number of her health care providers and various coordinators at the insurance company, but we were so thankful to finally have an appointment on July 26, 2018. Of course when I contacted the insurance company to ensure they were aware of the Mayo Clinic appointment they had no information. Since the Mayo Clinic is an out of network provider, the insurance company required a prior authorization.  Well it was during that hurdle that I was advised by the  Mayo Clinic that they do not accept my sister's insurance.   Mayo is requiring an initial  $5000 deposit before she is seen.  One of many challenges along the way.   My sister was devastated by the news.  I told her not to give up that we would get her there on a wing and many prayers.  We do not know the ultimate cost of the diagnosis and treatment.  In addition to the required $5000 deposit, we were told to expect to be in Rochester for 3 to 7 business days.  So these funds would assist us with the deposit and related travel expenses.  My sister means the world to me and my family.  We humbly ask you to join us in getting my sister to the Mayo Clinic.  We and her doctors feel that something is being missed and are confident that Mayo will provide us with the accurate diagnosis and treatment.   We need to raise these funds quickly so that we do not have to cancel or reschedule the appointment.  I will be accompanying my sister to Rochester.  We have come too far to give up now!   No donation is too small.
