Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and hopeful spirit to ask for help for my sister’s husband, Jean. Though they are resistant to asking for help, I need to support them in any way that I can, and I know this will help them tremendously.
Jean, my brother-in-law - Chef français extraordinaire, fisherman, an expert in the pool - was just recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) Stage 3B, an aggressive rare form of cancer of the lymph nodes. He is just beginning his arduous journey through treatment.
As most of you probably know, Melody and Jean live in a beautiful but remote area of Virginia, which presents significant hurdles when managing a serious illness like cancer. For the first 6 months, they will require frequent, overnight trips for appointments, treatment, follow-up care, and implementing a plant-based diet.
Beyond the immense emotional and physical toll of cancer, the practical challenges and constant travel and accommodations for treatment are overwhelming, time-consuming and expenses quickly accumulate. Those of you who know Jean know that he has always been very active and has enjoyed tackling whatever needs to be done around the house, like chopping trees, splitting wood, hedging, mowing the property, tending to the garden, fixing things, maintenance, and especially creating culinary gourmet meals…but Melody and Jean will definitely face significant financial strain and major lifestyle changes in order to fully commit to Jean’s treatments. I hope to help alleviate some of the burden so that Jean (and Melody) can focus entirely on fighting this aggressive disease.
Sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world to our family. Thank you so much for the outpouring of love and support you have shown Jean and Melody through this process. Thank you for lifting Jean up with your prayers, your encouragement, and your generosity. Anything you can contribute will be so very appreciated and will make a difference, but most importantly your continued prayers provide them with hope and strength.
We are so grateful for the love surrounding him every step of the way. May God bless you and merci beaucoup!
With gratitude, love, and blessings,
Joy
