For those that don’t know, this is my daughter, Jazzy. Talk about a kid with a BIG heart! Ever since she was little, she’s been a giver. In elementary and middle school, she would always ask me to pack extra food and desserts in her lunch so she could give them to the kids that didn’t have anything. In high school, she would stand up for kids being bullied and stand up for the teachers being mistreated by other students.
I’ve worked at Maggiano’s for the past 15 years, and every year we partner up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. When she was 7, she started and would run her own lemonade stand in the Texas heat at North Park Mall, in front of Maggiano’s, to help raise money for the kids at the Make-A-Wish Foundation, raising more money than all the servers combined 5 years in a row.
Soon after, in appreciation for all her hard work and dedication from her inspiration and mentor, Executive Chef Jessica, she became a sous chef for the Maggiano’s Future Chefs Cooking Classes. For 10 years, she helped other kids learn about flavors, ingredients, and the joy of cooking.
Now keep in mind, she wasn’t getting paid for any of this. It was all her decision to volunteer to do it all, just to help others!
So here we are now. She’s 17 years old and just graduated high school, with her heart set on culinary school to perfect the skill she loves. Knowing Jazzy, I’ve had many people ask if they could do anything for her. So I’ve decided to set this up for just that reason.
PLEASE DON’T FEEL OBLIGATED TO GIVE
I’ve always taught her that hard work and, above all, kindness will get you far in life. So if anyone wants to donate and help her get set for her new journey and next chapter in her life, it is GREATLY appreciated. If not, that’s absolutely fine. We are just happy to have you all, in some way, in our lives And if you could find it in your heart to share this, it would mean more than you know.
