Hello, this is Isaiah Gonzalez, he was diagnosed with chronic granulomatous disease at 3 weeks of age, with multiple recurring infections on his fingers, legs, bones, liver, and lungs. Chronic granulomatous disease is a rare life threatening genetic disorder that affects the immune system, making it difficult to fight off certain bacterial and fungal infections.
Exposure to fungus, bacteria, and microorganisms in air, food, and water is inevitable, but harmful to individuals with CGD, as their immune system cannot protect them from activities like playing in nature.
Isaiah currently copping with CDG with several antibiotics daily & injections every other day. A bone marrow transplant is our best option for Isaiah to live a normal life.A bone marrow transplant is a significant procedure requiring extensive chemotherapy and radiation, potentially leading to lifelong side effects like infertility. We are currently in process of finding a match for Isaiah. He will undergo treatment within the year. Requiring us to stay in Boston for a total of 3months +. Anything is appreciated ❤️
