Join in to help the Ukrainian refugees in Poland

Dear friends and complete strangers,

As the conflict in Ukraine intensifies, claiming more and more lives and separating more and more families, people from all over Poland have rushed to help their Ukrainian neighbours who fled their country looking for safety. The number of Ukrainian refugees that have crossed the Polish border since 24th February is fast approaching 1 million. As we sit and watch from a distance, ordinary people like me and you invite strangers into their homes, simply because they have nowhere else to go. Schools, community centres and churches turned into shelters, with volunteers working 24/7 to provide accommodation, food, clothing, and mental support to those in need.

We are asking for your help to support one of those places, a Baptist Church in Wroclaw, which has been providing refuge to Ukrainian families, largely consisting of young children. They are fully dependent on their own resources, with no external funding, and the money is running out very quickly. Our close friends and family members are amongst those who have been making it all happen. We are talking about people who have day jobs and then work at night to prepare the beds, supply food, welcome new guests. Many of them have taken Ukrainian families under their roofs. They are expecting more people to come, and they desperately need financial assistance to continue their mission.
