On September 19th, 2022, our world came crumbling down when we received confirmation that our daughter, Guadalupe “Lupe” Acevez Cavazos, was diagnosed with Stage 4 HER2+, ER+, PR- metastatic breast cancer. This form of cancer is very aggressive and has already spread to other parts of her body, requiring indefinite ongoing treatment.

The news was very heartbreaking and devastating to her and our family. Everything hit like a whirlwind, and before we knew it, Lupe was bombarded by an overwhelming amount of testing, scans, exams, and lifesaving (yet painful) treatment. Consequently, she has had to miss a lot of work to care for these essential things and to let the diagnosis resonate. She also recently got sick with pneumonia and could not work for three weeks!

Through this new ordeal, Lupe has put on a brave, warrior face and a big smile. Most people don’t know the pain, anguish and suffering she is going through behind the scenes because she doesn’t want others to see how difficult this disease is to have. She always wears a smile to warm and shine for others, even during chemo treatments!

Lupe has always been very independent and is very humble. She is not one to ask for any assistance; however, we know that she will need financial support to cover all the medical bills, car payments, insurance, etc. that she is responsible for.

We ask for your kindness and giving hearts to help our beautiful daughter during this challenging time. Lupe has always been one to assist others in need with her huge heart and now she needs you!
