I never imagined I would be on the other end of a GoFundMe, but here we are. Goose suffered an injury to his neck Friday, March 7th, 2025, which the veterinarians believe is a herniated disc, otherwise known as IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease). Unfortunately, we are now seeing signs of neurological deterioration, including partial and full paralysis in all four limbs. He is currently on strict kennel rest orders, pain medication, and a steroid to manage his condition. However, that is only temporary relief as we save for an MRI, surgery, and future therapy. We are currently not in a position to pay for his treatment upfront, don’t have insurance, and urgency is our best chance in getting him into recovery.
Goose is only a prime 7 years, which is young for a dachshund. He is passionate about his ball and has competed in races since he was a pup, winning a silver and gold medal at the Old World Village Dachshund Races. I am devastated that, in an instant, my sweet boy has been stripped of his independence and ability to run and play.
If you have the means to help us fight this fight, we will be forever grateful. If all you can do is share our cause we will appreciate your contribution to Goose’s story.
