My name is Giselle Santiago. As many of you know, I had the misfortune of being horribly burned in a kitchen fire that occurred at my home last February, where I suffered 2nd, 3rd, and 4th degree burns from head to toe. Many doctors have said that I am lucky to be alive, and truth be told, I don't believe in luck. My guardian angel saved my life that dreadful day and I am truly grateful.

While a year has sped by, the pain ridden difficult days are now in the rear view. There are still challenges i face daily even being a yr post accident. Many of the procedures at this phase are not covered by insurance, sadly. With 40% of my total skin composition compromised and now replaced with skin grafts from my back, we are looking forward to a future of getting back to nolmalcy with 1 more yr of skin surgeries.
