Support Geoff's New Path of Disability & the
I'm Geoff, and unfortunately, through quite the turn of events, what started as a simple injury and crutches, had turned into immobility and damage to both legs and knees. My life has drastically went from one of physical fitness, and a love of the out doors, to not being able to walk or even get out of bed anymore.
There's alot to it, and the road to recovery will be a hard, complicated, long, and painful one. Hopefully, with your help, and the support of my friends. I can try to rise above this circumstance and persevere through these mental and physical challenges I have never faced before.
And your support as I transition to the different levels of care and housing, surgeries and recovery, and finally ,rehab and hopefully learning to walk again. Hopefully, we can get through this together, and you can witness the beauty and joy of a man taking his first steps. I know it will be Magic. Thank you all
Photos from my journey are on my Facebook, I have put descriptions on each in text. I think I can only have a cover photo on here, so I figured I would change it to me smiling and happy. My black and white, distressed hospital picture Is still available on my Facebook. I just felt, if that was the only vibe you got from me, that was at my worst, in the worst mood.
So, enjoy my clean cut hair, perfect beard, and joyous smile. I just gave myself that hair cut and trim the night before, and I felt pretty good about myself. pre-initial injury about a month I believe. Though if you look at my pictures on Facebook, you will see i have since let it run wild. I look like a Tom Hanks in Castaway, and some days I feel castaway, this bed is my island prison
I just thought i would elaborate on the changing of the Photo guard. But again, I appreciate all your support. I'm not expecting anyone to be the ship that saves me from being castaway on mattress island, but a Wilson here or there adds up quick. If you haven't seen Castaway, that was lost on you.
Here is what you need to know: Tom Hanks with a ton of wild long hair and beard, he had washed ashore alone on a tropical island for years, goes kinda crazy, and when a volleyball washes ashore, he paints a smiley face on it and it becomes, "Wilson", his best friend for years until he is rescued. Bam. All the context you need, but really, just watch the movie.
