Hi, this is Bret, Fritz’s dog mom.
Fritz and I could use your help to afford a scar revision surgery to fully remove the soft tissue sarcoma on his right shoulder.
About Fritz:
If you’re a personal friend or one of his followers, you already know all about my emotional, funny, beautiful boy with human-like expressive eyes.
If you clicked on this link from a friend who shared, chances are you’ve actually seen Fritz pop up on your feed before! Since I took him to the dentist years ago and his first video went viral, people all around the world asked me to create social media accounts for him, so I did.
The video that started it all:
I’ve kept posting on his Instagram and TikTok accounts because he brings joy to others the same way he brings joy to me. It has been so beautiful to see an entire community of people grow to love him like I do. I linked some of my favorite videos at the end of this if you want to see more of my boy.
Fritz is genuinely my life. I love my dog more than I can explain. If you know me personally, you know that well. Fritz and Bret are a package deal.
If you can help us afford this surgery, thank you so much. Seriously, anything helps.
If you can’t afford to donate right now, that’s totally ok! It would mean so much if you could share this to help our chances of reaching the goal.
The surgery:
Fritz went in for surgery to remove a soft tissue sarcoma on his right shoulder last month, but the surgeon was unable to completely remove it.
At his oncology appointment today, the surgical oncologist determined he thinks he can fully remove it with a scar revision surgery. They had availability the same day, and the cancer hasn’t spread to his lungs yet, so I decided to move forward. He’s going into surgery now.
After talking to the vet I’m hopeful this scar revision surgery will prevent any regrowth.
I’ve updated the goal cost to reflect the cost of the second surgery today and the cancer grading they did this morning.
Thank you to everyone who already donated for his first surgery - we were able to get most of the mass out then, but not all of it. This second surgery is more intense but should get rid of the cancer completely.
I don’t expect this to be fully funded by any means, but friends and family have asked if they can help, so I created this campaign. If you can’t donate, please don’t fret! Thank you for even being here and being my friend.
Thank you for reading and for caring about my Fritzy. Thank you for continuing to care in a world that feels so impossible so often.
❤️ Fritz and Bret Mortimer
