Hi, my name is Fran and my precious dog Luna of 13 years has recently been diagnosed with non-regenerative anemia. Her body is unable to make enough red blood cells, her white blood cells are too high and her red cells are gravely low, going as low as 8% (normal is 33%).
We’re fighting against time and she’s already had to go to the emergency vet three times for blood transfusions to buy us time to figure out and treat her condition. Each transfusion is $1200+, we’ve had to pay $200-300 weekly for labs to test her blood count numbers, plus x-rays & ultrasounds ($600) and medications/shots ($50-100).
She has gone through multiple different testing to try to figure out what’s making her so sick, the vet says the next step is to test for autoimmune disease and bone marrow cancer. We are trying to make enough to cover the bone marrow testing (quoted to cost at least $1500), more emergency blood transfusions she will need until then ($1200+ each, so far she has been needing one about every 2-3 weeks), and chemotherapy ($2000-$8000) if it is unfortunately cancer plus any other treatment, procedures, and medications she will need.
We have been struggling to keep up with her treatment financially and much appreciate any small amount you can help with. Luna means the world to us and we will do anything to save her. Thank you from the bottom of our heart for any support you can give.
