2025-2026 Miss Omega Psi Phi Scholarship Pageant

Greetings!

My name is Fikemi Pratt, and I am a first-year student majoring in Arts and Communications at the University of Georgia. As an 18-year-old, I am exposed to numerous opportunities that allow me to create change. However, as an immigrant who knows others with similar backgrounds, I find that it is difficult to utilize those opportunities without any hindrances. I find it considerably difficult to procure jobs within my intended field of work based on factors like my skin color, gender, and even age.

That is why I am competing in the Miss. Omega Psi Phi Scholarship Pageant. Although the fraternity offers twelve mandated programs, I have chosen to work alongside the Social Action program to address a cause that is deeply important to me: amplifying underrepresented voices in the entertainment industry.

I aim to educate others on the importance of supporting underrepresented communities. I have chosen my platform of choice to be the nonprofit organization: New Moon. New Moon focuses on dedicating its time to shed light on stories and perspectives that are often overlooked– fostering empathy and understanding in the community and beyond. New Moon connects with these efforts to uplift and strengthen communities through project ideas that include but are not limited to women’s healthcare, digital education, and self-care.

Because their principles are firm on uplift and perseverance, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is the perfect organization to help advance my goal. However, to lay the foundation for this vision, I need your help. Join me in making my aspirations come to life because every contribution counts, and brings us closer to a more inclusive and dynamic film industry.
