Evalynn’s medical bills
Doação protegida
My name is Vallerie. My husband Evan and I have known each other for five years. In May 2023, we got married and shortly after, started talking about starting our family. In November, we found out we were expecting! We were beyond thrilled! Everything was going so well, and on January 16th, 2024, we went for our 20-week appointment. Twins!! We were shocked but so excited! Then the doctor came in and said there was a problem with Twin B not growing and he sent us to a specialist where we went every week after.
Week 25 rolls around and I go in for our appointment, the Doctor comes in and says he saw something concerning with Twin B and wanted to admit us into the hospital for constant observation. And at 25 weeks and 6 days my water broke and I immediately knew something was wrong, I was put under for an emergency C-section and our girls came into this world. Elianna Marie Polley (15oz) and Evalynn May Polley (1lbs 12oz). Both girls were rushed to the NICU where Doctors and nurses worked to save our girls. And 45 minutes later the Doctor came in to deliver the heavy news, Evalynn was very sick and Elianna was very weak. Elianna was handed to Evan so he could meet her and say goodbye. With heavy hearts, we said goodbye to Elianna and she took her last breath in her daddy’s arms.
Evalynn was very sick, we could only touch her every six hours, it was all up to God at this point. She was battling a brain bleed, heart murmur, ROP (an eye disease caused by prematurity), weight gain, high blood pressure, anemia, apnea, a kidney injury, high heart rate of 200+, respiratory issues and a few more problems that came up through her hospital stay. It felt like forever and a day, she had some days she was doing great and some days she would take a few steps back but by the grace of God, slowly she got better.
On May 12th, 2024 our baby girl was healthy enough to come home! God had it all planned! That day was our wedding anniversary, Mother’s Day, and Evalynn’s NICU graduation day!
Having her home has been amazing. She reached her “due date” June 3rd and is growing faster than we can keep up. We still have lots of Doctors, specialists and therapists we have to see regularly, some in Kansas City but she has impressed so many people given her start at life. She is now four months old and 7lbs 9oz. We miss Elianna every single day and are hoping to teach Evalynn about her sister who she knew best out of all of us.
We are needing to raise money for extra medical bills and traveling bills that have come up on top of what insurance will cover. Please keep my family in your prayers and God bless!
