Join Erica's Fight Against SMA Challenges

Dear Friends and Compassionate Souls,

I'm reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a deep sense of hope for my beloved daughter Erica, a brave 10-year-old girl who has been battling Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) since August 2015. SMA is a rare and debilitating genetic disorder that affects the muscles needed for vital activities like breathing, swallowing, and moving. Despite her young age, Erica has shown incredible strength and resilience in the face of this life-altering condition.

Over the years growing up in Kenya, Erica has faced countless challenges. Simple activities that most children take for granted are monumental tasks for her. She relies on specialized equipment and constant medical care to help her navigate each day. The progression of SMA has made it increasingly difficult for her to maintain even the most basic functions, and as she grows, her needs become more complex and urgent.

The financial burden of caring for a child with SMA is overwhelming. Between the specialized medical equipment, frequent doctor visits, and round-the-clock care, the costs have become unmanageable for me and my family. We have done everything in our power to provide Erica with the care she needs, but we have now reached a point where we need your help.

We have identified a specialized hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that is willing to conduct surgery on her to improve some of her complications. The costs associated with her travel to the hospital and after the surgery are beyond our means.

We are humbly asking for your support to help us raise the necessary funds that will facilitate these costs. Besides the surgery Erica will need a series of specialized medical procedures that will improve her well-being. The money will specifically be used to purchase and maintain a number of medical equipment that she requires, as well as travel expenses to Philadelphia - due to her condition Erica's travel is quite expensive. Every donation, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to providing her with the care she deserves.
