Join Erica's Battle Against Cancer

Donation protected
Hello, I'm Heather Daniels, and I'm reaching out to share the story of my dear friend, Erica Dudley. Earlier this year, Erica was diagnosed with stage 4 adenoid cystic carcinoma. This is a rare cancer that started in her salivary gland and has spread to major nerves in her face and skull base. To combat this aggressive disease, Erica has been undergoing specialized proton therapy at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, requiring her to temporarily relocate from her home in Vermont.

A devoted wife and mother of two young children, ages 8 and 5, Erica is bravely confronting the seriousness of her condition while fighting as hard as possible to be able to play an active role in her kids’ lives for as long as possible. As the financial strain of travel and medical expenses is putting significant burden on her family, I urge you to join me in extending a helping hand to Erica and her loved ones, by providing them with the hope and support they need by donating to our GoFundMe campaign, or sharing it with your network.

Thank you for considering how you can make a difference in Erica's life and offer her family some much needed relief during this difficult period.

A note from Erica

Dear Friends and Family,

We are deeply touched by all of the encouragement and love we've received since I was diagnosed with cancer. Your kind words, offers of assistance, and hope for a positive outcome means the world to us. We’ve been profoundly moved by the compassion we’ve received during this difficult time.

Navigating through cancer has presented unexpected challenges, particularly as we balance the emotional and financial strain of commuting between Vermont and Texas, as a single-income family.

My parents have been invaluable as they have relocated to Vermont from Arizona to care for my children, Alex and Chase, in an effort to help them maintain a sense of normalcy. Andrew, my husband, travels tirelessly between Vermont and Houston to be by my side as I undergo treatment at M.D. Anderson.

If you're considering supporting us financially, your contribution will directly assist us with essential expenses, including:

* Airline tickets
* Temporary accommodation in Houston, Texas
* Rental car, gas, and daily hospital parking fees
* Medical bills not covered by insurance
* Additional care for the kids and our dog Cooper
* Other necessary living expenses

Your kindness will alleviate some of the challenges we're currently facing, enabling us to cherish the time we spend together and focus on my journey towards recovery. Battling this cancer will demand lifelong vigilance and treatment. The burden feels overwhelming, but we deeply appreciate your love and support as we navigate these uncharted waters. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your generosity and kindness as you consider donating or sharing our story. Your support means everything to us and will have a tangible impact on our daily life.

With profound gratitude,
Erica
