UPDATE: Donations are still welcome and much appreciated, but sadly Midas has passed. There was nothing else we could do for him besides get a diagnosis that would’ve costed anywhere from an extra 4-8 thousand dollars. Even though he passed, I do still need help as the total still ended up being 3,600. Thank you all again, I wish it didn’t have to be this way.Hi everyone! My name is Emmalee, i’m 18 years old and this baby pictured is my sweet kitty Midas. On 4/02 at 12 am, I had to rush Midas to the emergency vet after he had a seizure at my feet. I had previously scheduled Midas for 4/04, the earliest I could get him in for an appointment, with symptoms such as lethargy, lack of appetite, drinking less water, as well as balance issues. After Midas collapsed in front of me, seizing and drooling- I knew I had to take him to the emergency vet immediately. Once the vet took him back, he had another seizure resulting in them giving him a IV as well as valium to stop the seizure. The vet told me he would need a full paneling for treatment with X-rays, bloodwork, etc. After doing an X-ray, they found that Midas’ kidneys are enlarged, which the doctors are performing an ultrasound to see what’s causing his kidneys to swell. The doctor says there is hope, but they are doing what they can to figure out what’s causing the swelling. There is a possibility he has Cancer, which would be hard to treat considering he’s only 9 months old. I will continue to update once I figure out what exactly is going on with him. I really just need help paying back the vet bill and for possible further treatment if needed, which is a grand total of $4,472. I am not expecting to reach my goal whatsoever, but anything helps.
