In early March, my 42-year-old niece, Emily Kriger, was admitted to the hospital in severe stomach pain. Since then, she has been in and out of the hospital. Emily has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer which has spread to her liver and lungs. As a result, she has been out of work since this began.

Right now, Emily is recovering from major colon surgery and planning to begin chemotherapy in about two weeks. The treatment is expected to last six months. When that’s done, there will probably be radiation to follow.

We are asking for support to help Emily with this fight. Funds raised will be used to help cover her monthly expenses and medical costs. This includes co-pays, rent, utilities, car, etc., along with transportation to/from doctor’s visits and any specialty medical supplies insurance doesn’t cover. Taking this stress off the table will allow Emily to focus on healing and beating this.
