My niece, Emilee Lopez, a vibrant 15-year-old freshman at Oak Lawn High School, loves spending time with her friends and enjoying all the fun things that make being a teenager special. But on November 25, 2024, Emily’s life changed dramatically when she was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with kidney failure. Doctors have determined that Emily will need both of her kidneys replaced, making her road to recovery even more challenging.
Her treatment plan includes starting dialysis, which requires costly dialysis drinks—$100 per case—to support her care. Emilee was recently transferred to a specialized Children’s Hospital in Chicago, where she is expected to stay for at least two more weeks. Her parents have remained by her side, managing the emotional toll and financial strain of this devastating diagnosis. In addition to medical bills, they now face significant expenses for weekly travel to and from the hospital, as well as the mounting costs of everyday life.
We’re reaching out for your help to ensure Emilee gets the life-saving care she needs. Your donations will directly support her treatments, transportation, and other unexpected costs during this difficult time. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.
Please join us in giving Emilee and her family hope and relief as they navigate this challenging journey. Thank you for your generosity and support!
