Cancer SUCKS!

I am reaching out to you today to share the story of my beautiful friend Eileen, who needs our support during her courageous battle against breast cancer. Her world has been turned upside down, and inside out in less than a couple of months from testing to surgery.

Just days after celebrating her 50th birthday, Eileen received the devastating news. This time, when Eileen went for her routine mammogram, it wasn't someone else. It was her. News we never want to hear. "You have [Breast] Cancer." And so her journey began and continues. A journey most of us can relate to in one way or another.

Eileen is an amazing wife and mother to four incredible children, and four lucky rescue dogs. She loves spending quality time with family, going to the beach, supporting thousands of business owners in her free Soul Fueled Entrepreneurs Community and making a difference in others' lives, including mine :) Now we can help by making a difference in her life.

Eileen's life-changing journey towards recovery involves undergoing a double mastectomy, a procedure that will not only physically challenge her, but also take an emotional toll on her and her family. Her initial surgery will last over 8 hours to remove her almost 4 inch tumor and begin the reconstructive process. While her full recovery plan is undetermined until after the surgery and final pathology results, one thing is certain – Eileen will need to take significant time off from work without the paid time off needed.

Adding to the burden of battling cancer, the financial strain during this difficult time is an additional layer of stress that Eileen and her family should not have to bear alone. As you can imagine, or maybe even experienced in your own circle, the expenses of cancer are no joke. Time off of work for Eileen is only one concern. There are the added costs of travel to the hospital and medical facilities which are over an hour away from home. There will be ongoing treatments, medications, imaging, tests, surgery expenses, family needs etc.

Eileen's husband Bradd, who suffers from MS, is a teacher who works a second job in the summer to help make ends meet. Now, his ability to work will be affected by taking care of Eileen. Helping Ethan, Emma, Evan and Eli maintain as much of a "normal" life as possible is a major priority; keeping them involved in activities that bring them joy.

We want to thank each of you who has already reached out to offer love, support, prayers and good vibes. If you know Eileen, you know that she doesn't like to ask for assistance for anything! BUT there are many of us who want to help!!! This is where WE can make a difference.

By coming together as a community, we can alleviate some of the financial worries and allow Eileen to focus on her recovery with her loved ones by her side. Our goal in raising these funds is to ease the financial pressures, providing the necessary resources to carry them through her treatment as costs accumulate.
