Help Continue Echotopia's 10-yr Zero-Waste Impact

Our customers' smiles show that joining in the zero waste economy is a joy. Started in 2015, Echotopia LLC is Maryland's first zero waste business. We make and sell delightful home cleaners in endlessly reusable pretty glass jars. Thanks to 'reuse and refill' at Mt. Royal Soaps and farmers markets, our Baltimore customers have avoided sending almost 4,500 containers to landfill or incineration. Take a bow!

Sadly, our expenses are ever-higher. In spite of constant economizing, we may have to shut down. Yet building the zero waste path is more urgent than and doable than 10 years ago. Echotopia's wisdom and contacts can help contribute to Baltimore's zero waste path!

But this business must be financially stable. If successful, this fundraiser will help us switch to a sustainable business plan.

Our donors are sustainability and justice leaders. Please join this incredible team. Any amount will be gratefully received

As Baltimore’s first farmers market vendor to have a plastic-free refill station (2015) we continue to impact the local economy:
1. We partner with sustainable businesses such as Neighborhood Sun and Patagonia Baltimore
2. At Mr. Royal Soaps, our products sell out faster than we can restock
3. Outward Bound Chesapeake Bmore buys our laundry detergent
4. Echotopia joined multi-business refill and reuse pop ups last year

Learn more:
  • We handmake and sell natural cleaning powders: laundry detergents, scouring scrubs and hand scrubs.
  • Refills are $2 off.
  • Through Echotopia container reuse and refill, our customers have prevented almost 4,500 items of trash from entering incinerators or landfill. That means cleaner air, water and soil. The path to better public health.
  • Together we are reducing dependence on single-use plastic containers.
  • Our products are very concentrated, saving $$$.
  • Our Lavender, Sage and Rosemary Laundry Detergent is our most popular product.
  • Our Hint-of-Mint Hand Scrub comes in at a close second.
  • Almost all our ingredients are regionally- or US-sourced
  • Our glass jars are US-made and endlessly refilled (IYKYK).
  • Customers can bring their own containers. We have a tare scale.
  • Our herbs - peppermint, lemon balm, rosemary, sage, chamomile, thyme - are from our small pollinator garden.
  • We use gentle essential oils from flowers, leaves and seeds. They are aromatic and have other health benefits.
  • We distributed 300+ Echotopia Seed Rounds to our customers to start pollinator gardens. These are small upcycled paper discs
