I'm not sure how to start...I was asked to make this page by those who wanted to help our family. My name is Katie, and my amazing husband of almost 14 years of marriage was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.

In October, Dwayne was experiencing abdominal discomfort that ended him in the ER. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis at that time. When he had the abdominal CT scan, they noticed a spot at the bottom of his right lung. After doing another scan of his chest, the doctor came in to give us the results of his findings. We were then referred to the VA Cancer Specialists. After multiple tests, PET scan, and biopsies, we received the news we never thought we would hear. The results are positive for cancer. The PET scan shows the cancer is in his right lung, left hip, left rib, upper/lower part of his spine, and his lymph nodes.

If you know Dwayne, he is one of the hardest workers I know. He is a man of his word, selfless, and not to mention a little stubborn

Dwayne is a wonderful provider, husband, and father to our 2 children, Kadence (12) and Hudson (9).

During this storm, Dwayne has continued to be positive, strong, and faithful.

We know we have a long road ahead, but we remain faithful knowing God is greater than cancer and will heal Dwayne.

I made the decision to resign from my part-time job to care for him and our kids during this difficult period. He is receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy and will have good days and bad days.

Dwayne continues to push himself to work on his good days with the support of his amazing work family. We are blessed that God has given us a strong army of angels fighting alongside us and we thank you for all the acts of love sent our way.

We ask for continued prayers for our family.
