After weeks of phone calls with doctors, countless scans, and major uncertainty, we decided to send Drake into surgery in an attempt to remove as much of the growing tumor as possible. On August 21 at 10 AM, the doctors performed a bladder resection, removing the tumor and part of his bladder, resulting in a temporary catheter for a couple of weeks. While Drake has been at home recovering, we recently got the call that the doctors found clean margins, and his body is miraculously CANCER FREE! This was never outlined as a possibility for our Drake, but somehow has become our reality. As of right now, there is no need for maintenance chemo or further surgery. We want to express our deep appreciation to everyone who donated, loved, supported, and showed up for our family in the last month. We needed you, and you changed our lives.
