Though her roots are described in her bio as concentrated in the U.S., Dr. Vaughan has a deep affinity for the Caribbean especially Jamaica. In the wake of Hurricane Melissa’s impact with loss of homes, personal property, livestock and crops and key infrastructure, she is turning that affinity into action to help rebuild Jamaica. We invite you to join in raising supplies and funds to help assist the community of Joe Hut, a small community in the mountains of Trelwany, the 2nd most impacted parish on the island. Your support can help fill urgent needs for the community impacted by this devastation. It will also help rebuild vital infrastructure in the hurricane-hit region so the resilient Jamaican people can recover and thrive. Your contribution will go directly towards restoration efforts focusing on rebuilding infrastructure, restoring power and lighting, providing food assistance, and supporting shipping efforts to deliver essential supplies.
