Many of you are aware of Doug Watson’s current battle with Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer which was diagnosed early this year. In Doug’s own words, he went to bed feeling fine one night after Christmas, and woke up the next morning unable to navigate between rooms in his own home.
Although Doug was able to locate and receive excellent, advanced medical treatments by highly specialized physicians at Duke Cancer Center in Durham, NC, the treatment plan (including radiation and intensive chemotherapy), combined with the presence of the brain tumor, have made it impossible to fully function at work. Doug has been on short term disability and expects to move to long term disability in the coming days.
With the loving support of his wife, family, and friends, Doug is focused on staying positive as he continues the current chemo regimen of 1 week “on” and 3 weeks “off” through spring 2025.
As Doug and Karen work through the daily stresses related to Doug’s health needs, treatment schedules and reduced income, they’ve reached the point in this journey where they would greatly benefit from financial support to manage their medical expenses. After several offers from various people, they have agreed to allow a Go Fund Me account to be set up in their name for this purpose.
If you feel led and are in a position to assist Doug and Karen in a financial capacity, it would be such a help as they work through the process of prioritizing and paying for the accumulating medical care, treatments & services during these days.
Thanks so much for prayerfully considering this opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ to Doug and Karen. And feel free to share this opportunity to give with others who may not have heard of Doug’s journey.
