Join Doug Lambert's Battle Against Cancer
Donation protected
Our long-time friend, devoted father, fraternity brother, and all-around wonderful guy, Doug Lambert, is battling fourth-stage cancer. Last year, he went through rigorous chemotherapy treatment to fight the disease, after which he and his doctors believed he was cancer-free, only to learn this spring that his cancer had returned and spread. With a pile of medical bills exceeding $100K and not being able to take on as much work due to his illness, Doug needs our help. Doug has always been the one in the room to lift everyone up, be there to support us, and put a smile on our faces. He has done this for as long as we've all known him as friends and brothers and in his career as a business advisor. Now, it is time for us to do this for Doug and his family and to help ease their financial burdens while he focuses on fighting his illness. Please consider supporting Doug and his family with any amount that you can.

Initial Diagnosis and Treatment
In 2021, insurance agencies in the United States approved colonoscopies for patients after age 45. However, in 2020, Doug's doctor advised him to undergo the procedure at age 50, which he did. In May 2023, Doug completed his colonoscopy, and cancer was found in the Sigmoid region of his colon at stage three, indicating that it had spread to the lymph nodes. Doug underwent successful surgery to remove the cancer and cancerous lymph nodes in June 2023. Subsequently, he completed eight months of intense chemotherapy, with his last session in December 2023. In January, scans showed no signs of cancer, and Doug was considered to be in full remission.
Setbacks and Challenges
Despite Doug's positive progress, in April 2024, a routine CT scan sadly revealed stage 4 cancer in the pelvis, abdominal area, and around the liver. To compound matters, Ascension Health and its online platform for scheduling and sending vital health records to patients and doctors experienced a cyber attack in 17 states. This significantly complicated the process, causing delays in Doug's biopsy results. Despite this setback, Doug took it upon himself to manually collect all his records and make appointments at Froedtert Cancer Center and MD Anderson. While Doug trusts his local oncologists and has a solid plan in place, MD Anderson offers more resources and is considering him for participation in clinical trials, which would require regular travel.
Seeking Additional Support
Despite his positive outlook, as his family's sole financial provider, Doug struggles to manage the substantial medical bills accumulated over the past 18 months. Simply put, he cannot handle this alone and needs our help. We invite you to join us in supporting Doug with whatever financial contribution you can contribute. Every dollar counts in helping Doug with his medical expenses, allowing him to focus on his healing process. Together, we can make a significant difference in the life of a fantastic person and his family. Please donate today. THANK YOU!
