It is hard to believe that just 5 years ago we were standing by Diwan's bedside thinking we were spending our last moments with him. We watched our little baby boy fight fiercely to live. Diwan fearlessly faced and overcame the unrelenting waves of challenges in his young life. As parents, the helpless feeling and anxiety were unbearable and paralyzing at times. We clung onto Diwan's warrior spirit just trying to stay afloat. Fast forward to today, our little warrior is now 5 and he lives life and fights bedtime with same determination and fierceness, we still find ourselves often clinging on for dear life. Diwan allowed us to experience what it truly means to receive love and compassion from family, friends and complete strangers. Diwan's medical teams both at Bryn Mawr Hospital (where he was born) and CHOP not only kept Diwan alive but also comforted and carried my husband and I through the deepest pits of despair. To be able to watch Diwan grow into the fun seeking, outside of the box thinking (even without true understanding of the box), car obsessed boy he is today has been the greatest gift. He has also become a doting big brother to his thankfully less adventurous (at least for now) little brother, Taran. To us, Diwan and his journey embodies what life is. Life can be terrifying and devastating but also beautiful and perfect, coexisting together.

The reason we are able to heal and move forward to have the life we have today is because of the overwhelming love, care and support from all of you! Thank you!

1. CHOP- without CHOP, Diwan would not be here today. No words can fully describe the magnitude of the work, care and hope this institution provides families.

2. Head Over Hooves Farm- A beautiful family ran animal sanctuary in Coopersburg that helps animals in unfortunate circumstances recover and receive a chance to live their best lives. Diwan loves to visit this farm. We found connections with many animals here as they too have an unwavering will to live and are on their journeys to healing. This is also the location of Diwan's birthday party!
