Dear friends,
I'm reaching out to our community, on behalf of my friend Diana Giovannone. Diana is currently facing one of the toughest battles of her life: that being her second battle of Ovarian Stage 4 Cancer.
Here is HER story...
Hi everyone, my name is Diana Giovannone. As some of you may already, I am battling cancer for the second time around; and if you have followed my journey on my Facebook page, then you're familiar with the details. Here is more of my real time, real life journey.
I am currently 52 years old. I have two beautiful children, Antonio and Angelina. In July of 2020, I was diagnosed with ovarian stage 4 cancer. At that time, I was living with my boyfriend of 5 and a 1/2 yrs, Elliot. He was my sole provider. He helped me and my children and on August 3, 2021 I was Cancer Free! On August 31st Elliott passed away suddenly and with his passing I could not afford our rental home and insurance on my vehicle alone. I basically lost everything which I then discovered the tragedy of homelessness, depression, and being carless. Seeing my children was difficult for me. I somehow came out of homelessness on my own and in March of 2022, I found a place for which I still reside two years later.
Fast forward to March of 2024, I got the worst news of my life....Ovarian stage 4 Cancer has returned and this incurable disease came back more aggressive and comes with a limited time of my life expectancy.
Money is limited; and with having my medical co-pays on bills and also trying to provide for myself on the daily, and keep a roof over my head and also to see my children, I am now four (4) months behind on rent . This past month I've gone to the Atlantic County State Buildings on multiple occasions trying to get any kind of assistance for help. But have been repeatedly refused and told I am NOT qualified for assistance.
This week, if I'm unable to get caught up and cover this months rent, then by Friday, May 17th. I will be evicted. After beating everything the first time, and everything starting to get better, I never would’ve thought I'd be in this situation again. The topper! I have my third and last chemo treatment the same day. I'm so scared right now.
During all of these hardships, I have never asked anyone for help when it comes to money and my finances. I was always able to make ends meet, working when I was able and picking up odd jobs to cover what needed to be covered.
Becoming homeless again and attempting to beat Ovarian stage 4 cancer once again is incredibly scary and challenging and I now, I cannot do this alone.
I’m coming on here for as much help as I can possibly get.
Every dollar counts and every prayer counts, too. Thank you for takin the time out to read my Story.
Have a blessed day.
