Hi everyone,

My name is Diana Sanchez, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Liliana " Mala" Moreno.

Liliana has been in custody at Las Colinas Reentry Detention Facility since 2018, serving a 7-year sentence. During her entire time there, she has worked tirelessly as a trustee, stayed out of trouble, and committed herself to growth and transformation. If there was a class offered—she signed up. From culinary arts, landscaping, sewing, and agriculture, to working the coffee cart and kitchen shifts—Liliana took every opportunity to better herself. She’s also known as the “house mom” in her unit, offering support and guidance to others.

On July 15, 2025, Liliana will be released and transitioning into a sober living program. Her dream is to return to school and pursue her associate’s degree in agriculture—or wherever her passion leads her.

I’ve stayed in close contact with her for the past four years and witnessed the incredible personal growth and transformation she’s achieved. This GoFundMe isn’t something she asked for—I am asking, because I believe she deserves a fresh start with dignity and hope.
