Hope for Jorge: A Fundraiser for Courage and Healing

My name is Diana. I created this GoFundMe on behalf of one of my dearest friends! I want to share his story and ask you to contribute whatever you can. Every dollar will make a big difference.
Thank you for reading me;

I met Jorge back in 2013 when we were volunteering at an organization that helps children with cancer in Chihuahua, MX. As ironic as life is, Jorge is now fighting stage 4 cancer alongside his wife and 5-month-old baby girl.
We became very good friends because, as you should know, Jorge is the most charismatic and friendly person in the world.
I moved to El Paso 9 years ago, but we've kept in touch as much as possible. Now Jorge will tell you his story.

"My name is Jorge Carlos Rivera, I'm 35 years old, and I just became a dad. My wife Ana Karen and I had been trying to grow our family for 3 years without success. We finally decided to go to a fertility clinic, but in the end, it was not necessary... our prayers were answered, and our miracle happened. Anna Micaela came into our lives on December 18, 2024.
The change in our routine was drastic and as a first-time dad, the sleepless nights and changes in our eating habits were masking some symptoms. Fatigue, weight loss, and waking up at night were some of them, but later on some other symptoms like fevers, cold sweats, and body aches began. I decided to go to the doctor to see what was wrong. During the consultation he told us that my symptoms were serious and that I would need blood, thyroid, and glycosylated hemoglobin tests, amongst others. These results indicated something was wrong and I had to go through a series of CT scans. When we received the results, they were able to detect swollen lymph nodes in my groin, abdomen, liver, and lungs, which indicated classical Hodgkin's Lymphoma, mixed cellularity subtype, stage 4.
My hematologist prescribed the treatment plan, which involves 12 sessions of Chemotherapy with Immunotherapy. We are hopeful that these sessions will completely eradicate the cancer. What we didn't expect is that the approximate cost of each session is $216,000MXN, for a total of $2,600,000 MXN, not including the costs for the surgery for catheter placement, laboratory tests, doctor's appointments, and PET CT (which will be performed three times during the chemo treatment). I am telling you my story to ask from the bottom of my heart for your help, to support me and my family in meeting the upcoming expenses. I also ask for your prayers to help me overcome this difficult illness.
We hope to count on your generosity and your donation to cover my treatment expenses and make this experience more bearable, so I can dedicate myself to facing cancer, defeat it, and to care for my wife and my baby, who is about to turn 5 months old. I want to be able to feed her, help her sleep, care for her, and make her laugh. I want to be there in every stage of her life. I want to take her to school and be with her and my wife at every birthday party. I want to take her to her prom and one day walk her down the aisle.
I thank you all for your prayers, your messages and calls, and the displays of care and affection for me and my family. I have no words to express my gratitude for everything you do for us.

I want to live a long life and share it with my wife as we watch our daughter grow."
