If you are lucky enough to have crossed paths with Desiree Breaux, I imagine you have a story to tell. It is highly likely that that story would include laughter or an anecdote of some sassy remark. It is just as likely that the story may contain an example of comfort, welcoming, or love. Perhaps a story of something she took the time to teach you or a time when she fixed a problem in the way only she could. If you have not met Desiree, I assure you that you are missing out. Her career in nursing is marked by thousands of connections and lifelong friendships. Her knowledge and her joy at sharing information with the younger generation of nurses is truly awe inspiring. Her strength, friendship, and love are unmatched. Especially, her love for her cherished Gabby Googatron! She has collected so many of her "peepa" over the years and I assure you we are all better for it.

Dearest friends, family, coworkers, former students, we regret to inform you that our dear friend has suffered a medical emergency. We ask that you do not overwhelm her with calls, texts, and questions at this time and respect her privacy. We will update here as appropriate! Thankfully, she is on the mend, however she will likely (to her dismay) be unable to work and care for her patients for some time. She is eager to return to her work in the ER and ICU! On her behalf, we ask that you consider donating to alleviate stress of medical bills during her time of recovery. She has cared for so many over the years and for now we can help care for her.
