Hello, I am Denise Hartman. I am a proud mother of 3 boys and an entrepreneur, most know me for my watch repair. In the beginning of January 2025, I found a lump on my left breast. On February 13th, I was diagnosed with stage two invasive ductile triple-negative breast cancer, a very aggressive form of breast cancer. that required immediate action This was after I had to have my ankle reconstructed unexpectedly in September of 2023. I was able to learn to walk again, and I just returned to work in May of 2024. You can imagine the uphil battle I had from that, but we had a good 7 month run at it!

I had my first chemotherapy treatment on March 3rd with UNMC here in Nebraska. I was fortunate enough to qualify for a third-phase trial drug that shortens my chemo treatment from 24 weeks to 18. Then I will need surgery, reconstructive surgery and radiation treatments, which are predicted at 12 weeks of radiation. This drug is supposed to be easier on the patient, if there is an easier.

I have currently been out of work due to an upper respiratory infection on top of the chemo and immuneo therapy for about a month now. I had really hoped to be superwoman and not let this affect my home or business, but it is, and I can only do so much. If things go as well as we hope, I will finish chemotherapy, have surgery to remove the tumor and infected tissue, then reconstructive surgery, and then radiation treatments, which should all end by September or october.

I have never asked for help before, but I recognize that God wants us to ask for help if we need it. This is a time in my life I need help, from the lost income for myself, my partner and best friend Dan, who is also my caretaker during this, taking off unpaid to take me to appointments, support me emotionally, and care for my children. I plan to start a blog on how this goes, especially with this third-phase trial.
