Join David McDonald's Fight Against Cancer

On May 24th, Dad, (David McDonald) went to get his eye's checked for double vision, when at his appointment the eye Dr. suggested a cat scan to rule out an aneurysm or stroke. The Dr. suggested instead go to the ER, and going to the ER they concluded there was a Tumor behind his left eye.

They did a cat scan on his mid-section and found several nodules on his liver, both lungs, both ribs, at that time that's all they saw. The ER Dr. contacted Ames Oncology and immediately started appointments for more testing, which included an MRI on his brain, which they found two tumors. Also a pet- scan that showed cancer nodules throughout his chest, both ribs,both lungs, his pancreas, tailbone and all throughout his bone structure. In the end he had a biopsy, that confirmed Small Cell Advanced Lung Cancer.

Dad had a biopsy done on his liver on June 25th and on June 27th confirmed Stage 4 Small Cell Advanced Lung Cancer. On June 27th for his appointment they hospitalized him to keep his tailbone pain under control, and to place a port in him to start Chemo immediately. On June 28th, they did radiation on his tailbone, placed his port in him, and started Chemo. He will be hospitalized through the weekend, in hopes he can go home Monday. He'll be doing 4 rounds of chemo before his next body scan to see if the Chemo is working.

We'll be looking to do several different Fundraisers, because Dad is self employed and right now he's focusing on getting better, which had stopped his income. We'll be starting a go fund me page, we are also in the process of getting shirts made to help raise funds.
