Join Dan's Battle: Bone Marrow Transplant Fund

We are reaching out to you on behalf of Dan Berta and his family, who have been facing an incredibly difficult journey. For the past three years, Dan has bravely fought against Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), working tirelessly with his doctors to manage the disease. Through sheer strength and determination, they have successfully reduced the CLL. However, after all the treatments, a devastating new challenge has emerged: Dan has now been diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a life-threatening blood disorder that requires immediate and aggressive treatment in the form of a bone marrow/stem cell transplant.

This new diagnosis has taken a toll on Dan both physically and emotionally, but he is determined to fight. Unfortunately, the road ahead is long, complicated, and expensive. Dan and his family need our help to make it through.

The Medical Journey

Over the past three years, Dan has fought valiantly against CLL, going through numerous treatments that have helped reduce the disease’s progression. However, the emergence of MDS has made it clear that he now requires a life-saving stem cell transplant. The transplant will involve intensive chemotherapy, month-long hospitalization, and a lengthy recovery period away from home, all of which come with immense medical costs.

Throughout this ongoing battle, Dan's family has been a pillar of support—providing emotional comfort, taking on caregiving roles, and helping manage the logistics of a difficult medical journey. But with the costs of treatments, medications, and now the transplant process, the financial burden is becoming overwhelming.
