Join Danger's Battle Against Sepsis and Cancer

Hi, my name is Mandie and I'm raising funds to pay the rising hospital bills for my very best friend, Danger.

My husband and I rescued Danger in 2016 when he was just a pup. He is the sweetest boy and means the world to us. While on paper we rescued him, in actuality he saved us.

We didn't know if we would ever have kids of our own, so we have treated our dogs as our kids. When we did finally have a baby, Danger stepped up as her protector and best friend.

Danger also serves as the emotional support dog for his other sister, Wendigo. Wendigo had a very rough start to life, being severely abused and neglected. She took to Danger immediately and over the years she has learned from him how to trust people again.

Danger and Wendigo are usually inseparable, and now that he's in the hospital she's not really eating or playing. She and her little human sister look for Danger and really need him to come home.

On Friday, June 7, 2024, Danger became ill and started to act strangely. My husband took him to the emergency vet and at first it was thought he had some kind of stomach bug. By Saturday, he was running a fever and his pulse was weak.

Danger had become septic due to a tear in his large intestine. He had emergency surgery and only had a 50/50 chance of pulling through.

Luckily, Danger survived but is not out of the woods yet. He is still at the animal hospital in Southfield as he recovers. He still has some issues, so the hospital is the best place for him.

With that being said, the bills are continuing to grow at around $25,000, and will likely get even higher.

Danger is one of our kids and as long as he is fighting, we will fight for him. We need help, as not many people are prepared for this kind of cost and we've exhausted savings and credit to help him in his fight to come back home.
