My name is Cory. I am desperately trying to raise money for my amazing fiancée. Her picture is my cover photo; her name is Frannie. She & I have known one another for over 20 years! We dated the first time in 2002. We unfortunately separated after a little over a year and a half. Fast forward to January 2023, I see for the first time, her name pop up on Facebook. So I messaged her, and she responded immediately with "Can I call you?" We talked for 14 hours that day! In those 14 hours, I learned that her life had been full of obstacles that I won't discuss in such a public forum. But in these situations, she found comfort in alcohol. When I talked to her that night, she had been drinking heavily for 10 years, about a fifth and a half of vodka a day! I had made my mind up a few hours into this conversation that I would take what little I had and get her moved back home to our hometown. And do any and everything I could with whatever resources I had, with whatever money I could get together, to help her get sober. This was something that she was ready to do. She was estranged from her daughters and her parents, and she did not want to die! So on January 28th, 2023, I went and picked her up and brought her back home. I allowed her to drink still, with the understanding that there had to be a goal in place. In April of that year, I was at work. I came home to a very quiet, melancholy, almost sick, pale-faced Frannie, which immediately got me concerned. I started asking her what was the matter, and she showed me the paperwork from the doctor's office that she had gone to on her own that day to get put on medicine to help with the withdrawals from the alcohol. She had drunk consistently for so long that stopping cold turkey was not an option; it could have been fatal. Now, in this time frame, we had some very hard times. We were homeless for a few months, and she never wavered. I became so enamored and proud of her that what she had done was no small feat, and I told her every day how proud I was of her just to remind her of what she had accomplished. She picked up a job that turned into a full-time job, and in July of last year, after having 14 months of sobriety, complete sobriety, she was given a management position at her job, which added an immense amount of stress that broke her resolve, and she relapsed into alcohol again. This woman is the love of my life, and as I'm typing this today, it is 9:33 p.m. on July 1st, 2025. She has made the decision that this is enough. She doesn't want to get back to drinking as bad as she was. She drinks about two or three double shots of Fireball a day, which is vastly less than what she was drinking, but she understands the rabbit hole that she's going down, and she's trying to stop herself from getting to that point of no return, if you will. That's where this page comes into play. She does not have insurance; she left her job. My job pays all the bills, which leaves nothing extra for her to get to the doctor, get the medication that will be very expensive, and ultimately check herself into an outpatient rehab. Which best estimates will cost somewhere along the price range of $2,800 to $3,000 in a year's time. Now, I typically would never ask for outside help, especially from people I've never met, especially for something that is an addiction, but I have seen what she's capable of, and now she knows how to manage her stress better without alcohol. So any funds raised will be going to a cause that will have a successful outcome; it won't be for nothing. So please, anyone who has struggled with addiction, has seen family members struggle with addiction, and can find it in their heart to donate anything to get us to a $1,600 start for doctor's visits and medication pills and 2 months of outpatient rehab, grateful and appreciative, humble, thankful are all words that don't express the gratitude and thanks I would have for anyone who could help in this. You'll be saving a life, and what a wonderful life that it is. She is an amazing woman.
Thank you
