Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted Strangers,
Today, we reach out to you with heavy hearts but hopeful spirits. Bradley and Alison, proud parents to their beautiful baby boy Cooper, had received some life-changing news, while 21 weeks pregnant. Cooper was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a rare and serious congenital heart defect where the left side of the heart is severely underdeveloped. At 3 days old Cooper had his first, of many, open heart surgery’s.
This diagnosis means that Cooper faces a long and difficult road ahead, filled with medical procedures, surgeries, and constant care from his loving parents. As many of you know, HLHS requires multiple open-heart surgeries in the early years of life, and while medical advancements have made these procedures possible, the emotional, physical, and financial stress on families is immense.
Bradley, Alison and their 2 young girls are already showing incredible strength and resilience, are now facing challenges that no parent should have to face. With Cooper being over 2 hours from home, this has created tremendous medical, travel and lodging expenses. As they navigate this difficult journey, they need the support of their community more than ever.
We are asking for your help to support them through this incredibly challenging time. Whether you can contribute financially, offer words of encouragement, or share this post to spread the word, every bit helps.
