Support Colin and his family on his journey through a healthy recovery!
Hello everyone, we are starting this GoFundMe to support Colin and his family. Colin is loved by many, and his bright attitude has brought us so much happiness. As a son, friend, and role model, he has shown what it means to be a great person in this world. Not a day goes by when his absence isn't felt, and we hope that through this support, we can ease the struggles that come with his medical journey.
Colin experienced flu like symptoms and was admitted to the hospital in mid-March. He was diagnosed with ITP and had a blood platelet transfusion.
He was then readmitted to a second hospital, St Jude, after experiencing neuro issues, which we found out was a double stroke. His condition escalated with an infection, which caused an abscess in the brain requiring a transfer to UCLA Medical Center for brain surgery.
Brain surgery revealed the infection type causes Lemierre's syndrome and is most commonly caused by the bacteria known as Fusobacterium necrophoruminfection which is rare at 1 in 1 million.
He was transferred back to St Jude into their Acute Neuro Rehab facility. Colin is scheduled to be released home in mid-May where he will continue his rehab on an outpatient basis.
Despite his challenges, he shows incredible strength and determination in his recovery. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will make a significant impact and help Colin and his family focus on what truly matters: his health and well-being. Please consider supporting Colin as he navigates this difficult time. Thank you for your generosity and kindness.
