Cole is coming to the end of his journey, we need all the prayers and help possible

Coles journey began over the summer of 2024. After 2 misdiagnoses and no immediate care available in Birmingham, we found ourselves at Sarah Cannon tri star in Nashville. Diagnosed with a rare bone cancer, the amazing doctors in Nashville admitted Cole and he started his cancer journey. Cole, courageously completed 37 total weeks of 5 different chemos and a complex surgery, in Nashville, to remove his humerus bone as well as a complete shoulder replacement . With more then 26k miles driven, 18 appointments in Nashville, 85 appointments at Children's of Alabama, 42 over night stays at Children's, 12 platelet transfusions, 26 blood transfusions, physical therapy, occupational therapy, cell booster shots, and more pain and fear then any child should ever experience, Cole miraculously completed his treatment and in October 2025, was declared Cancer free! As we began to figure out our new normal, Cole continued to have severe leg pain. Through out October & November we visited Children's several times and were assured the pain was neuropathy & an infarct on his right femur. Chemo caused issues. At the end of December, the pain was unbearable and impacting Coles day to day life. On January 8th, Coles pediatric oncologist called. The cancer that was supposed to be gone, the pain that was supposed to be neuropathy, was instead a storm of cancer cells ravishing Coles weak & frail body. Ewings is a vicious cancer that leaves 1 in 3 children seeing relapse or secondary cancers. Coles ewings is now in his femur, his tibia, on his spine, t5,t6, t8, t10 - t12. L5, his pelvic bone, uncountable nodes throughout his lungs, as well as 2 mass in his lungs and multiple marble size tumors visible on his chest. Cole is now diagnosed with mestatic ewings & has been placed on palliative care . In just the past few weeks ewings has taken its toll. On Tuesday, February 10th, Cole was admitted due to his right lung collapsing and both lungs completely filled with fluid. On Wednesday a catheter was placed in Coles chest in hopes to drain the fluid and give him a chance to receive radiation. The radiation would ease the pain & symptoms to add enough quality time for Cole to graduate in May. Something that is so important to him. After the surgery to place the tube, Cole quickly declined. Doctors immediately did all the could do but were not sure he would make it through the night. This morning Cole, pale and so weak he could barely talk simply ask if he could still go to school for his white coat ceremony and to be pinned. Throughout the past 18 months, graduation and studying medicine has been the fierce drive behind Coles incredible resilience. A 4.0 gpa, science, math and history national honors inductions, induction into hosa, a health care certification and much more. I am so incredibly proud of the amazing person he has become. There are no words to describe the strength shown and the humble, loving heart Cole has. Wise beyond his years and so very openly greatful for all the help given to us on his journey, I could never have asked for more. As of now, Coles time is much shorter then originally thought. At the beginning of Coles journey I lost my job, along with his life insurance. There was simply no way to care for him and work. The financial toll has been catastrophic. With this being Cole's senior year and many things due and wanted for memories on the hardest days in the future, as well as needing help to cover the final cost of goodbye, we have created a spotfund and updated his go fund me account. Above all else I ask you to pray for his pain to subside. For strength through the upcoming days, for me to accept Gods will, not be selfish and to be able to let go when its time. Pray for his siblings and the ones that love him mercifully. Pray the Lord will provide away financially and that my sweet boy will be remembered for his passion, his resilience, his strength and his genuine love for others.
