Help the Gilliards Relocate to Richmond for Ministry Training at Grimké Seminary

Our Story

Hi friends and family,

We’re the Gilliards, a family of six following Jesus and pursuing His call into deeper ministry. I’m Cody, a worship director, and I’m pursuing a Doctorate in Urban Ministry and Worship at Grimké Seminary in Richmond, Virginia.

We never saw this coming, but God clearly did. After walking through a challenging season and months of seeking God’s guidance, we believe He’s turning the page and writing something new for our family. This opportunity is an answer to prayer, one that will shape our leadership, deepen our discipleship, and equip us to serve urban churches with theological strength, Spirit-filled worship, and practical love.

Why We’re Raising $15,600

We still need to relocate our entire family from Boca Raton to Richmond to pursue this 6-year calling.

We’re raising $15,600 to cover:

Moving Expenses (truck, gas, deposits) – $5,000

Break Lease at the Apartment – $4,400

Move into House – $3,200

️Cover Expenses mid-July to mid-August – $3,000

Timeline

We’re praying and working to be fully funded by August 15, 2025, so we can move and get settled before the Fall semester begins at Grimké.

I start working at a local warehouse in Richmond on August 4th. Lenesha will begin working for the local school on August 11th.

Lenesha has the opportunity to invest in the lives of Black and Brown students through Christian education. We're praying everything works out for all four of our kids to attend the school as well.
