Join CJ's Journey to Overcome Cancer and Return to Dancing!

We are supporting the kindest and most hard-working soul, CJ. He is a 19-year-old competitive Latin dancer whose spirit burns bright from Davao City, Philippines. CJ doesn't just dance; he lives the rhythm, pouring his heart into every step on the dance floor that is his second home. His kindness is legendary, and his work ethic unwavering. Now, CJ faces a recent diagnosis of Stage 2 abdominal cancer. Six months of chemotherapy stand between him and the life he loves. I am hoping you can help me help him!

I met CJ a month ago when we started training together in Manila and Ormoc City to compete at three different international competitions for Latin dance. From day one, CJ showed me nothing but dedication and willpower to make our partnership strong and look beautiful on the dance floor, but more importantly, he showed me kindness and became my friend in a country where I hardly knew anybody. Through the hardships of training, CJ became a source of inspiration, and his unwavering belief in me – pushing me through exhaustion to become not just a better dancer, but a braver me – became my anchor.

A week before our first competition, CJ received his diagnosis, in which the doctor stated, “absolutely no dancing,” and our dreams of competing together in the Philippines, Taiwan, and China were set back. Additionally, CJ was ready to begin his first year of university this year but will have to take a gap year to focus on his treatment and recovery.

Becoming CJ’s friend has been one of life’s greatest privileges, and I truly owe all my effort to support him through his cancer treatment. Your donation will go towards CJ’s chemotherapy expenses, to help his family afford to keep him healthy.
