On May 28th at 8:20pm, we received a call that no parent can ever imagine. “Your son was in an accident and is unresponsive” Our entire life was changed with those words. The drive to the hospital felt like it was in slow motion. After finally arriving and navigating through the chaos, we were told the devastating news that Carter has suffered a broken femur on one leg and a severe laceration to his upper thigh that has caused minimal use of that leg. He was taken into surgery to place a titanium rod into his thigh and to try and repair the nerves on the other leg. He is facing a mountain of challenges, he will need to learn to walk again and adapt to these challenges. As an active teenager, he’s not going to let this slow him down. He will need months of physical therapy and rehabilitation. We are asking for help to get through these tough times. His family has been by his side 24/7 and we want to thank everyone who has reached out and has offered support. We see you and we love you all
